What is this Thing Called Love? - Inspirational Gifts of Love - 'tween: The Art of Healing in Love and Light

In the Seeming Beginning, was Love and the love was with God. God, Goddess, All-That-Is, was, is now and will be for ever and ever that Love! We can't define God in words, for to define is to limit! We come as close as we can when we say, "God is Love!"

Love is the primary principle of all Life; the first manifestation; the highest vibration in a universe made up of vibrations. You and I are part of that Love; sharing that Love! Everything that exists is a slowed-down vibration of that Love; a sub-harmonic, but, always, in some way, containing the nature of that Love! That which seems to us to be of a negative, sinful or inharmonious nature is also a manifestation of that Love but clouded over with conditions, judgements, illusions and false memories.When we complicate the simplicity of love with our added conditions, desires, and lack of trust it gets twisted and doesn't look like love any more!

Anger is a denial of love but also a call for love. Such a call is very rarely recognised. The other person gets angry too and the call for love gets lost in the confusion. High level energies like love have a way of re-straightening themselves. They can back- fire and return negative conditions to those responsible for creating or agreeing to them. That is, basically, what Karma is!

'Unconditional Love' has become, somewhat of a buzz word, lately. What does it mean and just how do we do it? When we put out 'pure' love without complicating it with our thoughts, expectations or needs, then it is unconditional. Conditional means that we have added to our love some condition or qualifier. We can now use that love as a trade, to get a bargain or to control someone. This alloys the high vibration of love with the baser, materialistic condition.

It is common to hear a mother say," I want to love, unconditionally, but after a time I give up. These kids are so naughty! I could keep loving them if they would only behave!" That's an excuse for not giving REAL love! That's setting up a 'return wanted', a bargining chip!

Anything that is 'pure' should be easy. It's the complexities we add that makes things hard! When love comes from the Heart Chakra (energy center) it is pure! It is very easy and natural to love from the heart, but the love gets inhibited and complicated by conditions, laid on it from the head
center (mind).

The mother who says she can't love the kids unconditionally, is saying that she puts mind-thought conditions on her love. Her old thought-patterns say, she shouldn't love kids that are naughty. 'Naughty' is a judgement that means, they exceed certain of her limits and often disobey her. Children who get real unconditional love don't have many behavioural problems anyway. As a parent it is her responsibility to be sure that limits are set and are well-known, as are, also, the 'tough love' consequences of crossing up the limits.

Some people, mainly men, are so cut off from their feelings that they don't know how it feels to love from the heart. They think they 'love' but their love is a head-trip and, as such, is easily distorted to become conditional love. If they get married, after awhile they give up thinking they should feel love and just take it for granted. Many women complain that their partners just take them for granted but to the man in question that statement usually, makes no sense! After a time, the woman may give up because she feels cheated by getting only words instead of nurturing, unconditional love. Love is more than just an idea or a word. Just as the word f-o-o-d won't nourish you, neither will the word l-o-v-e! Love never satisfies, unless its accompanied by energy and feeling!

Wife asks, "Do you love me, dear? Hubby mutters, from behind his paper, "Of course, I love you." To him love is just a four-letter word that he is obliged to utter, from time to time. He has, probably forgotten the feeling of love and hasn't got the energy to be bothered resurrecting it.

Real love is an energy; the other feels and is affected by it. It can flow, without words, as those in love often experience, in just being close, in silence.

Very early, children learn about how to add conditions, when we should be teaching them unconditional love. Young children learn by modelling, even before they understand words and if the parents are competitive and self-seeking instead of open and loving the children pick up their way of coping with life and getting attention. Give out real love (heart-love) and ask directly for what you want. There's magic in real love. People do respond to it!

Ancient language usage often gives insight into special meanings a word may have gathered or lost. One dictionary associates 'love' with the old German word 'lief' meaning 'to give leave' or 'allow'. 'Love', also comes from the Latin 'liber' meaning 'to liberate' or, 'to free'. So, we have the idea of love as 'an allowance of freedom'! Not many people think of love in that way but it is a practical definition, well worth remembering and using. Dictionaries give scores of definitions of various aspects of love and the Thesaurus gives a whole page of synonyms.

A local ashram has a large board covered with scores of definitions of love, which visitors have contributed, over the years. We tried writing out as many as we could, defining love as broadly as possible, to cover it's many aspects. One workshop member gave a definition of love as, "When one gets a popsie into bed!" and another, "When you're crook and someone comes to look after you!" Not wrong, but definitely limited. I searched for an unlimited definition and this is what I came up with (was given) ...

Who or what are you willing to be 'at-one' with ?
To what degree are you willing to share yourself ?
To what degree are you willing to totally accept another in your space ?
What does it really mean to be 'together' ?
Does your willingness extend beyond one limited lifetime ?
Write out your own working definition of love.
What is 'love' to you ?
How does one put 'real' heart-felt love into practise, inspite of our inhibitions, our conditioning and our hesitancy about being 'at-one' ?

USING LOVE AS ENERGY

We can think of love as a word, thought, a feeling or even as a malady but it is most practical to be aware of it as energy! This allows us to keep our love clear of conditions and limitations! Electricity is, similarly, an energy. If you touch a live wire you will get a fast, unconditional skake up, whether you're a saint or sinner!

When you direct love, as an energy, to another person, even over a distance, they should feel it and have a response. If they have conditional beliefs and blocks against accepting love, they may suppress that response but it will still be there. If you are near the person, you should notice the reaction. If you can tune into this you will realise that what you have put out has been received and appreciated. This will build your confidence and encourage you to use unconditional, more, in future. If that hubby had used love-energy instead of just words, his wife would have felt it and rejoiced in it. As it was all she got was a feeling that told her that she was missing out on something! Next time you want someone to know that you love them, try giving love without verbalising it. Visualize it as an energy, growing in your Heart Center and radiating out to them in a beam.

Your Heart Center is a *psychic* space. It can't be found with a scalpel! Visualize it as an area about the size of your fist, in front of your spine central, not on the left, at the level of the physical heart. Practise flowing love-energy from that space to a similar space in your friend. Keep yourself open to receive the warmth of a return flow. Practise this with a partner and build an increasing and expanding love flow. When you have that going well, ask yourself, "Where have all those conditions gone, which I thought were so important?"

Can you now see the difference between 'Conditional Love' and 'UN-conditional Love ? If you can you can change your life and the lives of those you love! You can also create a field of 'love energy', surrounding your body and aura and embracing another. Next time you hug someone, visualise this, as a white or pinkish light but be sure that the power vibration of love is within that light. You might be amazed at the improvement that can happen, if you beam this energy or use a surrounding love energy field, when someone is aggressive or negative towards you! Love like this can and does allow miracles to happen!

The energy which manifests as love at the Heart Center also manifests at other levels. At lower levels it is called 'sex energy' and at a higher level, 'compassion! Sex and love compliment and enhance each other, if the lovers are open and there are no suppressions or blocks in their way. Pure energy can be cycled between a couple to build the power of both love and sex! Sex can be taken to a higher level by flowing the energy of unconditional love, heart to heart. Starting from a calm stillness, allow the energy to build and flow back and forth, then allow to return to stillness. Enjoy!!

Love is the highest, strongest vibration in this universe. It is also the most powerful healer. Unconditional Love should be a part of every therapy, especially those therapies which involve giving or balancing energy. Negative conditions, disease, depressions etc., often originate from twisted or selfish beliefs about love. These, eventually, affect the emotions; then the Etheric and finally, settle in the physical body! Healing is a return to Wholeness! When we re-connect, consciously with Universal Love it is easy to let go of old beliefs and unwanted conditions.

As we open to love and drop our old 'stuff', emotions calm down, blocks release, the energy systems rebalance and the body soon returns to normal function. Healing the other way, from the physical up is usually, a band-aid job, a surface do-up! Pushing drugs into the body leaves the negativity on the higher levels and it will resurface later. Always be ready to give love-energy to anyone in need. There's an infinite supply! Love isn't manifest until you give it away! Never push this onto anyone and always allow a return flow. This will be healing and cleansing for you both! Love brings us together from our usual state of separation. The most healing, beneficial thing one can do for another person is to send them unconditional love and assist them to open to the God-force of that energy! Don't neglect to include yourself in your unconditional love. If your self-esteem isn't high you will benefit from 'self-love' exercises.

Stand before your mirror and contact the love in your heart space center. Usually, it is felt as a small warm glow. Increase this and let it expand through your body, the focus it towards yourself in the mirror. Tell yourself, "I forgive you (your name). I love and approve of you. From now on I will not lay judgements on you but will treat you with kindness and unconditional love."

The more a person resists this process and feels foolish or adjated doing it, the more it is needed and the greater will be the beneifits. Practise the Love Field Exercise, for yourself, do it often, anywhere, even a few minutes will be helpful! When you have body discomfort or any unwanted condition, place left hand above and right hand below that level and send love to the part, as an energy. This is relaxing and healing!

A surprising thing! Spiritual Healing can go across cyberspace. There are several spiritual healing circles, lists and sites. Unconditional Love can also be directed across the net! After you have practised above exercises, try it out. ICQ is the best program I have found for a love-medium! That's the most important lesson of any lifetime!
